Canberra District’s’ Wine Week is ten days of events hosted in and around the Canberra region to celebrate all things wine.
This years’ calendar of events kick-off with a huge wine tasting event hosted in the courtyard of New Acton where 14 wineries will be showcased. The events continue through the week with the annual ‘liquid geography’ dinner hosted at Canberra’s only two-hatted restaurant Aubergine. Meet grape growers and wine makers at several wine dinner being hosted across the region.
Other events include a sparkling wine event at Canberra Glassworks; Ostani Bar at Hotel Realm will be tasting local wines each night; enjoy a long table lunch at the Discovery Garden at the National Arboretum; the annual Wine Luncheon at The Loft at Duxton featuring Mount Majura Vineyard.
Don’t forget to venture out of Canberra and explore the vineyards with vertical wine tastings, blending your own wine, grape stomping, wine trivia and cheese platters. Don’t want to drive? Join a secret wine tour. For those who want something a little different, there are two art exhibitions, for the keen photographer an early morning photo walk and scare crow making for the kids. Robyn Rowe is cooking up some delicious treats and there will be live music in the vines.
If you are thinking of making a weekend of it, there are plenty of accommodation choices. We recommend The Nest at Gundaroo, The Silver Bullet Airstream Hire and Adobe Murrumbateman.
Book-in your Canberra Wine Week adventure and lock the dates in your diary, from Saturday 7 April to Sunday 15 April 2018. Stay tuned for more events to be listed and keep an eye out for tickets on Eventbrite.
