Honey Tasting – Canberra Region Honey Weekend
About the Event
Murrumbateman Winery is hosting a honey tasting session for the first ever Canberra Region Honey Weekend on Sunday 20th August, 2pm. Tickets are available through Eventbrite.
The focus of the first ever Canberra Region Honey Weekend will be an opportunity for attendees to experience guided honey tasting masterclasses led by Jessica Locarnini from Honey Merchant. Jessica is formally trained in Italy, the USA and Australia, and is Australia’s only working Honey Sommelier. She will be supported by Cormac Farrell, a well known local beekeeper & botanist, who will share his own stories of bees in the region and their importance to the capital.
“Just like wine, terroir plays an important part in honey’s flavour. As well as the floral source, the location where the bees have been foraging and environmental conditions also play a big role in what we taste. This is a great opportunity for people to stop and appreciate the diverse flavours coming (literally) from their own backyards here in the Canberra Region.” Jessia Locarnini.
Tickets are $89pp (light snack and glass of wine included) and are available through Eventbrite:
