Murrumbateman Winery
About
Murrumbateman Winery is a boutique winery, combining traditional methods with young passion; creativity and finesse to produce outstanding award winning wines that capture the true essence and character of this cool climate region. Established in 1973, it is one of the oldest vineyards of the area.
The young team is passionate about making high quality wine. From tending to the vineyard to handpicking and foot stomping grapes, entertaining guests at cellar door and the important task of quality assurance, they live, drink and breathe wine.
Murrumbateman Winery makes outstanding and award winning wines true to the region favourites like Riesling and Shiraz. Winemaker Bobbie Makin, challenges the boundaries of cool climate winemaking with his big bold reds in hot vintages plus alternative varieties such as Sangiovese, Tempranillo and Malbec making a positive contribution to cellardoor variety and Nebbiolo plantings for the future.
Visit the cellar door for wine tasting, cheese plates, coffee and scones. Open 7 days a week and most public holidays from 10am to 5pm. It is extremely dog and child friendly.
Murrumbateman Winery is located on the corner of the Barton Highway and McIntosh Circuit, three kilometres south of the Murrumbateman township.
