Helm recognised by Gourmet
Helm Wines, a Pioneer of the Canberra Wine District, has been named Best Tasting Experience and Best Small Cellar Door in the Canberra District by Gourmet Traveller Wine magazine.
The annual awards select five cellar doors from wine regions around Australia which showcase the best each district has to offer.
Ken Helm of Helm Wines said “We’re a family business, and my wife Judith and I are still at the Cellar Door, guiding people through the wonders of Riesling and Cabernet Sauvignon – we’ve been doing it for more than 30 years.
“We’ve always thought that offering customers quality wine and a great cellar door experience is a really key part of our success, so we’re pleased this has been acknowledged in this year’s Gourmet Traveller awards.”
This is the second time Helm Wines have been recognised in the awards, being named Star Cellar Door and Best Small Cellar door in the Canberra District in 2015.
Helm Wines are also rated by James Halliday Wine Companion as a winery of outstanding quality regularly producing wines of exemplary quality.
Other awarded Canberra District wineries included Star Cellar Door Eden Road Wines, Lark Hill Winery, Cellar Door with Best Food, Best Large Cellar Door Clonakilla, and Best Additional Experience at Four Winds Vineyard.
