Sam Leyshon, Mallaluka winemaker – Young Gun of Wine nomination
It’s time for a good news story, and we while we know how awesome our young winemakers are, it’s always great to see one of ours recognised nationally.
Sam Leyshon of Mallaluka Wines has been nominated as one of Australia’s top Young Guns of wine for the Act/NSW district, and he’s amongst some very strong contenders. The Young Gun of Wine awards provides a shortcut to the most exciting wines, producers and places for wine right now, and we reckon that Sam, our rock star winemaker, fits that bill. Creating wines that are textural, high on detail and low on intervention, Sam, along with dad, John, are creating wines that are exciting our palates like their Fiano/Viognier blend and sparkling Sangiovese and challenge our cool climate wine definitions.
