New Winemaker and Manager for Eden Road Wines
Last week Eden Road Wines announced the appointment of Celine Rousseau as Eden Road’s new Winemaker and Manager. Celine will lead Eden Road’s crack team of winemakers, the amazing Mike Lloyd and Brigitte Rodda, to exciting new heights!
Celine joins Eden Road from the highly regarded High Country NSW wine company Chalkers Crossing, where she was founding Winemaker and Manager since 1999. Under Celine’s leadership, Chalkers Crossing has won numerous awards, including five stars in the James Halliday Wine Companion and Gourmet Traveller Magazine and, most recently, 5 trophies at the 2016 KPMG Royal Sydney wine show, and four trophies at the 2016 National Wine Show of Australia. Celine is herself a past Qantas Young Winemaker of the Year.
Celine arrived in Western Australia in 1997 and is regarded by her peers as one of the best winemakers in Australia. Born in Paris and trained in Bordeaux, she honed her skills in Chateaux in Bordeaux, Champagne and Languedoc in France, as well as in Western Australian wineries.
Commenting on her appointment, Celine said: “I am delighted to join Eden Road and bring my understanding and years of experience of high country terroir to Eden Road’s winemaking. I look forward to growing and developing the high quality of wines for which the brand is known and admired.”
