Riesling Vertical & a Plate of Germany
About the Event
Lerida Estate is bringing a touch of Germany to our venue this April as part of the Canberra Wines Stomp Festival, with a one-off tasting experience celebrating one of the world’s great grape varieties: Riesling.
“Riesling Vertical & a Plate of Germany” will take place on Saturday 18 April from 2:00pm–5:00pm, offering guests a guided vertical tasting of Lerida Estate Rieslings alongside a generous plate of classic German fare.
The tasting will explore the versatility and ageability of Riesling, including a rare opportunity to experience Federweisser — a semi-fermented Riesling that is lightly sparkling, slightly sweet, and traditionally enjoyed during harvest in Germany. This will be poured as part of the tasting and also available by the glass.
Guests will be served a German-inspired plate featuring:
- Traditional German sausage
- Sauerkraut
- Potato salad
- Fresh pretzel
To finish, the experience concludes with a butterscotch schnapps tasting from Canberra Distillery, with bottles also available for purchase to take home.
With polka tunes setting the atmosphere, the afternoon is designed to be relaxed, fun, and a little of both worlds — with one foot in cultural roots of Riesling while the other celebrating the deliciousness that is Canberra region riesling.
